DAY 1 : MOMBASA / SHIMBA HILLS
Breakfast and then road towards Shimba Hills National Reserve. You will have lunch in a beautiful lodge built in perfect harmony with nature. During your Shimba Hills safari you can, if you wish, take a walk in the park to reach a beautiful waterfall (walk of about an hour with the company of a Ranger). The reserve is an area of coastal rainforest, woodland and grassland. It is an important area for plant biodiversity – over 50% of the 159 rare plants in Kenya are found in the Shimba Hills, including some endangered species of cycad and orchids. It is also a nationally important site for birds and butterflies. Dinner and overnight at Shimba Hills Camp. *(Back to Mombasa by the end of the day, if on a 1 day safari). Possibility for this safari in one day.
DAY 2 : SHIMBA HILLS / MOMBASA.
Breakfast at the lodge then depart for a morning game-drive in Shimba Hills Game reserve till midday. During this Shimba Hills safari you will have the possibility of spotting more wildlife such as buffaloes, impalas , warthogs, elephants searching for good pasture. Shimba Hills contains Kenya’s only population of Sable Antelope. There are about 100 in the park. Drive to Mombasa for lunch and afternoon relaxation at the hotel.
