9 days Tanzania Safari Tour Itinerary

Day 1 : Kilimanajro / Arusha

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport in the evening. Warm welcome by your driver who will offer you a carved wooden Masai. Transfer to your hotel. Arusha is definitely more than just a safari town; it has superb views of Kilimanjaro and with a number of coffee plantations situated around the edge of town, it is a great place to stay for a day or two before heading out on safari. Arusha National Park is also a great distraction for a full or half day game drive. The main feature of the park is Mount Meru, which is much more of a technical climb than Kilimanjaro, and a great challenge for more experienced climbers.

Overnight at Olasiti Safari Lodge or Arusha Palace Hotel.

Day 2 : Arusha / Tarangire

Breakfast, then drive to TARANGIRE. Tarangire Park with an area of ??2850 km² is named after the river of the same name. Its landscape of hills planted with bushes, baobabs and acacias or “sausage tree” attracted a large fauna. One can easily observe elephants, gazelles, buffalo, impala, eland, cheetahs, lions and oryx. Check-in and lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon continue with safari until sunset. In the dry season the show hordes of wildebeest, elephants and zebras migrants to the Tarangire River is awesome! Enjoy the low attendance of the park.

Dinner and overnight at Lake Burunge Tented Camp  or Maramboi Tented Camp.

Day 3 : Tarangire / Lake Manyara / Ngorongoro

Breakfast. Walk safari in the company of a ranger and a Maasai to discover the fauna and flora, the lake Burunge then the road to the LAC MANYARA, located in northern Tanzania. The famous writer Ernest Hemingway considered him the best in Africa. Located at an altitude of 1000m and around an area of 330 km2 it alone occupies 70% of the park. Surrounded by a varied landscape: wooded savannah in the east, dry forest in the southwest and dense rainforest northwest, it has an important biodiversity. Birds are everywhere. The most common are pelicans and flamingos, arriving by thousands, covered with a pink-orange color most of the water, offering a fabulous show. You also will observe many hippos. Picnic in the park, then in the afternoon road towards NGORONGORO park.

Dinner and overnight at Bougaivillea Mountain Lodge or Tloma Lodge.

Day 4 : Karatu / Ngorongoro / Serengeti

Breakfast, then drive to the Serengeti. With an area of ??15,000 km² Serengeti park is the largest of Tanzania and is part of the largest preserved ecosystems on the planet. It offers an annual show of strength breathtaking: the phenomenon of the great migration. Masai in his name means “endless plains” phrase particularly representative of this immense landscape plains and hills and this impression of immensity experienced. Lunch in the park where the scenery is green: acacia and sausage trees overhanging rivers where animals come to drink. Hordes of wildebeest, gazelles, antelopes, zebras, elephants, lions inhabit its immense plains safari en route amidst breathtaking scenery … Installation to your lodge in the late afternoon.

Dinner and overnight at KatiKati Tented Camp  or Kubukubu Tented Camp.

Day 5 : Serengeti

Up at dawn where we will serve you coffee, chocolate or tea with cookies before leaving for an early morning game that will allow you to discover the awakening of Serengeti. A unique and unforgettable. Then back for a well deserved breakfast. With an area of ??15,000 km² Serengeti park is the largest of Tanzania and is part of the largest preserved ecosystems on the planet. It offers an annual show of strength breathtaking: the phenomenon of the great migration. Lunch at the Lodge or picnic in the park.

Day 6 : Serengeti / Ngorongor / Karatu

Breakfast at the lodge and safari en route towards Ngorongoro. And you continue your quest for incredible images of flora and fauna still rich. You will have the opportunity to stop at Olduvai Gorge, the cradle of humanity . A true homecoming, Lunch en route to Ngorongoro.

Dinner and overnight at Bougainvillea Lodge or Tloma Mountain Lodge.

Day 7 : Ngorongoro / Lake Manyara

Breakfast. Departure to the Ngorongoro Park. Optional: Before staying in this beautiful crater, you can make a hike on the ridges of the crater, of course escorted by experienced rangers. Descent to the heart of the crater … .In fact, the park is a crater more than 20 km in diameter, with relatively steep sides. Wild animal life in concentration is the largest in the world and most species of African fauna is represented: large herds and their predators (lions, cheetahs, hyenas), but also large mammals (elephants, rhinos, hippos) . Lunch at the heart of the crater and continuation of safari in the afternoon. the Ngorongoro crater has been classified by UNESCO as one of the eight wonders of the world. With a maximum depth of 610 m, it is the largest caldera on earth not flooded. The landscape of this huge crater populated of the largest animals on the planet is a beauty breathtaking. Then transfer to your camp or lodge in Manyara to Ngorongoro.

Dinner and overnight at Lake Manyara Wildlife Safari Camp or Kirurumu Tented Camp.

Day 8 : Manyara / Arusha / Depature

Breakfast at the camp and drive to the lands of adventure to discover a MASAI town of Mto Wa Mbu which remained authentic. You will be warmly welcomed and you will have the opportunity to live and understand the daily life of these people. After this unique discovery, you will visit the “Children Concern Foundation” school. This school welcomes underprivileged children and orphans. Through this foundation, they can have a decent, balanced and receive an education. Use this time to offer your gifts. Lunch at the lodge. Bike ride around the lake, visit the Masai village “Manyatta” then drive to ARUSHA. Transfer to Kilimanjaro airport for your next flight schedules. Overnight in flight.

Day 9 : Destination

Arrival in your destination in the early morning
